Zur Live Band Swing City House Band

Formed in 2022, Swing City House Band emerges as one of the most vibrant swing bands in Latin America. Originating from the heart of Swing City, the renowned swing dance school and jazz club in Argentina, this band embodies the passionate and energetic spirit of the swing community. Recognized on both local and international stages, it has been the main band at two Latin American editions of the International Lindy Hop Championships in Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. Its repertoire, which includes danceable Jazz, Swing and Rhythm & Blues  lassics from the 1920s, ’30s, and ’40s, keeps the vibrant essence of this culture alive.

Lucho Pellegrini is a musician, teacher, composer, producer and entrepreneur. He studied classical percussion at Conservatorio Superior Manuel de Falla and drums at SADEM. In 2016, Lucho founded Cincinnati Washboards, Argentina’s first brand of washboard-inspired percussion instruments, revolutionizing the country’s percussion landscape. Lucho performed internationally across Latin America, North America, and Europe, bringing his distinctive sound to diverse audiences. Currently, he energizes the stage with the Hot Shooters and with Swing City House Band, and collaborates as a sideman with various acclaimed artists. One of his latest releases, “Paparruchadas,” featured in the Hot Shooters‘ repertoire, has amassed millions of views on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, further solidifying his presence in the digital age.

JuanMa Torres is a guitarist, tenor sax player, recording artist and music teacher from Argentina. He’s been playing professionally for more than 18 years with many artists from the Blues & Swing scene in the country. He worked playing Guitar, Sax, or both, with legendary Chicago Blues artists as Bob Stroger, Tad Robinson, Omar Coleman, Zakiya Hooker to Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. He studied music at SADEM and he is a protegee of Chris Flory, latest Benny Goodman guitar player. He leads his own band: “JuanMa Torres Rhythm & Blues Combo” presenting his first Album recorded for Swing City Sessions available in all music platforms. He’s the tenor sax of Swing City House Band. In the educational area he’s the owner of “JuanMa Torres Guitar Club” teaching Guitar and Tenor Sax Online worldwide, with students from USA, Europe and Oceania.

Lucas Ferrari is one of the classical jazz musicians that have emerged in the atmosphere of Argentine jazz in recent years. He began his music studies in 2003, and since 2008 he has been carrying out his professional activity in various theaters and jazz and blues clubs in Argentina and Uruguay. In the last decade he visited some of the busiest cities in the jazz world, where he played with many of the most important musicians of the genre. He specializes in jazz styles developed during the first half of the 20th century (Classic Jazz and Swing). However, he also interprets modern jazz styles and other jazz-related genres such as Gospel, Rhythm and Blues, Boogie Woogie, Western Swing, Rockabilly, etc. He currently integrates groups such as Swing City House Band, Antigua Jazz Band, Delta Jazz Band, as well as participating in numerous other ensembles, accompany soloists and singers and direct his own groups. He plays piano, Hammond organ, melodica, double bass and tenor guitar/banjo.

Die Stimmung im Gewölbe der Berner Altstadt sorgt für ein besonderes Erlebnis, wo Musik, Ambiente und Tanz zur untrennbaren Einheit verschmelzen. Ein Event, das vom Geheimtipp zum Kultevent avanciert und nicht zuletzt der beste Ort, um sich von der alten Woche zu verabschieden und auf die beginnende einzustimmen.

Lindy Hop ist ein dynamischer, bodenständiger Paartanz aus dem Amerika der 30-er Jahre. Getanzt wurde Lindy Hop erstmals in Harlem New York zu Big Band Swing Musik. Der ursprünglich afromerikanische Tanz und Vorläufer von Boogie Woogie und Jitterbug geriet nach dem 2. Weltkrieg in Vergessenheit und wurde erst in den 80-ern wieder entdeckt. Heute finden immer mehr Leute den Zugang zu diesem Tanz, in dem Freude wichtiger ist als Können. Im Dialog mit dem Tanzpartner und der Musik sind der Kreativität und der Improvisation keine Grenzen gesetzt.

Lindy Hop getanzt wird im ONO jeweils meistens am 3. Sonntag im Monat von 20:00 – 23:00 Uhr mit DJ Tom.
